NikiKaliakatsou, vive ad Atene, ma il suo entusiasmo e la sua ambizione, l’hanno resa cittadina del mondo ed aperta al flusso dei complessi linguaggi della moda, per questo motivata a progredire ed avere successo nel settore del Fashion Design. Infatti la sua eccellente capacità di progettazione, la forte tecnica, un background e un solido senso della moda, le hanno permesso di creareun design innovativo, in questo settore.
Divisa tra Oriente ed Occidente ha collaborato con Sourcing in Pakistan (2017), a Londra dove ha studiato,all’UAL- Università delle Arti Londra Central Saint Martins, tra il 2015-2016, in una delle più famose scuole di design di moda d'Europa, che le ha permesso di sviluppare i suoi orizzonti e arricchire la sua conoscenza del fashion design nel modo migliore. Inoltre, il suo soggiorno nella capitale britannica e il suo contatto quotidiano con gli stranieri in campo professionale estremamente difficile come Londra, le ha dato esperienze, stimoli, possibilità e know-how che ha potuto utilizzare a beneficio dei suoi futuri datori di lavoro ( Visual Merchandising per il commerciante Sole a Londra settembre 2016 - marzo 2017, sfilata di Londra Fashion Kick all'Hilton Hotel giugno giugno 2016, collaborazione come studente di MODA MA e finalista del premio di kering per "Stella McCartney", NidaGonul al London College Fashion , Londra Novembre –Dicembre 2015, mostra e presentazione di disegni a febbraio 2016 a "Victoria House"). Ma la sua esperienza internazionale non ha cancellato il suo rapporto con Atene, infatti ha collaborato con con “Zavaliaris”, Atene, nel settembre del 2014, assistere il senior Women'swear designer nel design,programma speciale di formazione professionale per "Rivenditori", Atene 2014-2015 Veloudakis Fashion School, Atene 1986-1988 -Diploma nel Fashion Design e Pattern-Cutting, D&A Stefanopoulos (Stef Jeans), Atene 1988-2012 e con l'azienda Stef Jeans, dove si è specializzata nel design, nel commercio, nell'importazione e l'esportazione di vestiti che le hanno permesso di acquisire esperienza in tutti i diversi reparti nel corso degli anni.
Oggi Niki Kaliakatsou, vuole ancor più valorizzare la sua esperienza professionale, per metterla al servizio di ogni evento, attività o progetto, capace di rendere vivo il suo rapporto con il proprio Tempo e con la sua Esperienza.

Niki Kaliakatsou,lives in Athens, but her enthusiasm and ambition have made her a citizen of the world and open to the flow of complex fashion languages, which is why she is motivated to progress and succeed in the fashion design industry. In fact, her excellent design ability, strong technique, background and a solid sense of fashion, have allowed her to create an innovative design, in this area.
Divided between East and West she collaborated with Unilabel Sourcing in Pakistan (2017), in London where she studied, at the UAL-University Arts of London Central Saint Martins, between 2015-2016, in one of the most famous fashion design schools in Europe, which allowed her to develop her knowledge of fashion design in the best way. In addition, her stay in the British capital and her daily contact with foreigners in the extremely difficult professional field such as London, has given her experience, stimuli, possibilities and know-how that she has been able to use for the benefit of her future Employers ( Visual Merchandising for the Sole Trader in London September 2016 - March 2017, London Fashion Kick show at the Hilton Hotel,June 2016, collaborationas with an MA student and finalist of the kering award for "Stella McCartney", Nida Gonul at London College Fashion , London November–December 2015, exhibition and presenting Designs at "Victoria House" in February 2016). But her international experience didn’t erase her relationship with Athens, in fact she collaborated with “ Zavaliaris” Athens, in September 2014, assisting the senior Women's wear designer in design. Special vocational training program for "Retaillers", Athens 2014-2015 “Veloudakis Fashion School”, Athens 1986-1988 -Diploma in Fashion Design and Pattern-Cutting, D&A Stefanopoulos (Stef Jeans), Athens 1988-2012 and with the company “ Stef Jeans”, where she specialized in design, commerce, in the import and export of clothes that have allowed her to gain experience in all the different departments over the years.
Today Niki Kaliakatsou, wants even more to enhance her professional experience, to put her at the service of every event, activity or project, able to make her relationship with her Time and her Experience alive.

I refuse to give up my optimism about Athens. I was born in West side of Greece, grew up in Athens and my entire life is intrinsically linked with this city. The financial meltdown has naturally left deep scars on the urban fabric.
Despite the fact that I studied fashion Design, I was always intrigued by cities and by the public interiors. The economic crisis that started in 2009, is radically transforming the face of Athens. The transformation of the city’s face was indeed very radical but it did not happen from one day to the next, it followed a linear and gradual pace that lasted years.
Many streets in the city center of the Greek capital-once lively and busy shopping spots-became sites of vacancies when most of the stores were forced to shut down. In Athens, when you walk in the center, you pass long distances of vacant shop windows that eventually constitute the façade of the public space. Those decayed facades full of graffiti, posters, colors, words and many more data constitute the skin of the city. The ground floor windows create a setting, a backdrop for city life. Especially in a Mediterranean city like Athens, they shape the urban experience of millions of people.
I, was shocked when I saw images of Stadiou Street taken ten years ago. I couldn’t remember how vivid, colorful and alive the street was. These past few years, as I walk in the city, I see homeless people sleeping in front of the closed shops. When you notice such a change, you cannot forget it, not only as fact but also as feeling.
The conflict between ancient and modern is seen more clearly in Athens than elsewhere because one moment of its history celebrated over any other. The modern ruins of Athens are as much a stage in which history is taking place as the seat of government, or any newsroom. The example of the vacant shops is a case of ruined sites of a recent past. Decay is not only a natural phenomenon, but also a social condition, and a process that follows an almost linear path.
Crisis can be a danger, but also an opportunity. But apart from this, I believe the crisis gave the city space for new beginning and in this regard I am somewhat optimistic about its prospects. Well, it’s partly who I am as a person, always positive and open to things, but I do believe that something better will occur in the future, can be a mixture of the old and the new.

Mi rifiuto di rinunciare al mio ottimismo su Atene.
Sono nata nella parte occidentale della Grecia, sono cresciuta ad Atene e tutta la mia vita è intrinsecamente legata a questa città. Il tracollo finanziario ha naturalmente lasciato profonde cicatrici sul tessuto urbano.
Nonostante abbia studiato Fashion Design, sono sempre stata affascinato dalle città e dal suo carattere pubblico. La crisi economica iniziata nel 2009 sta trasformando radicalmente il volto di Atene. La trasformazione del volto della città è stata davvero molto radicale, ma non è accaduto da un giorno all'altro, ha seguito un ritmo lineare e graduale che è durato anni.
Molte strade nel centro della capitale greca, una volta vivaci e trafficati, spot per lo shopping, sono diventati siti di posti vacanti, la maggior parte dei negozi sono stati poi costretti a chiudere. Ad Atene, quando si cammina nel centro, si passa attraverso lunghe vetrine vuote che alla fine costituiscono la facciata dello spazio pubblico. Quelle facciate decadute, piene di graffiti, manifesti, colori, parole e molti altri dati costituiscono la pelle della città. Le finestre al piano terra, creano un ambiente, uno sfondo per la vita della città. Soprattutto in una città mediterranea come Atene, modellano l'esperienza urbana di milioni di persone.
Sono rimasto scioccata quando ho visto le immagini di Stadiou Street scattate dieci anni fa. Infatti non riuscivo a ricordare più, quanto la strada fosse viva e colorata. In questi ultimi anni, mentre cammino in città, vedo i senzatetto che dormono davanti ai negozi chiusi. Quando si nota un tale cambiamento, non si può dimenticare, solo come era fatto, ma anche il suo sentimento.
Il conflitto tra antico e moderno è visto più chiaramente ad Atene che altrove, perché un momento della sua storia ha celebrato su qualsiasi altro. Le rovine moderne di Atene sono come un palcoscenico, in cui la storia si sviluppa pubblicamente, come la sede del governo, o qualsiasi altro nuovo spazio pubblico. L'esempio dei negozi vacanti è un caso di siti in rovina di un recente passato. Il decadimento non è solo un fenomeno naturale, ma anche una condizione sociale, è un processo che segue un percorso quasi lineare.
La crisi può essere un pericolo, ma anche un'opportunità. Ma a parte questo, credo che la crisi ha dato alla città spazio per un nuovo inizio e a questo proposito sono un po' ottimista sulle sue prospettive. Beh, è in parte quello che sono come persona, sempre positiva e aperta alle cose, ma credo che qualcosa di meglio accadrà in futuro, sicuramemte potrà essere una miscela tra il vecchio e il nuovo.
